Connecting your YouTube channel to a third-party tool is a big ask. This page explains — in plain English — how MyVidLog connects, where every number comes from, and exactly what we can and cannot do with your channel.

Read-only, always

MyVidLog connects through Google's official YouTube API using read-only permissions. We can never edit, upload, or delete anything on your channel — Google enforces this at the permission level. We never see your Google password, and you can disconnect at any time from Settings or your Google account permissions.

Where the numbers come from

Your channel's stats come straight from the YouTube Analytics API — the same source YouTube Studio uses. Change tracking works by taking regular snapshots of your public video details and comparing them over time. Rival channels are tracked using only their public data. AI tools work from your own channel's data and the photos you choose to upload; your data is not used to train AI models.

What we store, and what we don't

We store snapshots of your channel and video stats so we can show trends over time. Payments are handled by Stripe — we never see or store your card number. We don't sell your data. Delete your account and your data goes with it — details in our Privacy Policy.
